2:Billboards

The billboards of my choosing are the Morris Bart commercials. I will be focusing my rhetorical analysis strictly on his billboard advertisement. In his ads his logo is simple and to the point. He says that one call is all you’ll need to make. These billboards are displayed so often and frequently that it is hard not to have his rhyme and jingle in the back of your mind. The reason for this may be his casual speech and easy to relate to demeanor.

Morris Bart and his marketing teams have successfully created a balance between showing his relatable side while also maintaining professionalism. He is in touch with his local clientel and shows this without theatrics. His billboards simple read “one call, that’s all”. He even goes even further and adds a “ya’ll” to the end of his slogan. He has proven that he can keep up with our ever changing times. His billboards now read “one click, that’s it.” Recognizing the digital age and being able to evolve to a world that is constantly evolving around you.

The consistency of his simple slogan signage furthers the idea that what he and his team are doing is in fact working. The old saying of “if it ain’t broke, then don’t fix it” applies to this very situation. Having been around for so many years and showing local people results is definitely worth the billboards.

His outward appearance is always the same, which is that of him in a suit, however it isn’t his attire that his clients are compensated with. He gets results. He gets them without all the bells and whistles. He is a great example of how less can be more. His many success stories over the years shows an experience that people can find comforting. His billboards aren’t suggestive or complex. The billboards are simply asking the reader to take a chance and make that one call should that day come where a call of that nature should be made.

His subtle, southern, swagger is what his billboards suggest. Like a gentleman, he’s not telling you to use his services. He is offering you the opportunity to consider giving him the pleasure of that one call. He has been growing his business for over 35 years. That experience is what making that one call or click that much easier should services of that nature ever need attending to.
